New Parking Lot Opening
November 17, 2008- Holiday travelers will now have covered parking available to them when they fly from Abilene Regional Airport. The new terminal parking lot will open to the public at 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2008. The lot has 733 covered parking spaces including 103 reserved for rental cars.
Also on Wednesday, the new daily rate for parking of $8/day with the first 30 minutes free will go into effect. There will be an associated hourly parking rate as well.
“I appreciated our customer’s patience while the terminal parking lot underwent major reconstruction,” Director of Aviation Don Green said. “The new covered parking lot will help protect passengers and their vehicles from the elements and further enhance their experience at Abilene Regional Airport.”
The parking lot reconstruction began in January 2008. The project involved construction of both the remote and covered parking lots, improved drainage around the terminal building and road work. Free shuttle service was provided to customers during the reconstruction. The project was completed in advance of the busiest travel time of year, the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Continental Express Question
In response to a question from a passenger about their OnePass miles expiring
while Continental is temporarily out of the Abilene market...Continental has
advised us that at this time OnePass miles do not expire. After 18 months of
inactivity with any of the following: (flights on CO, a partner airline, CO
branded credit card, hotel, car rental, cruise, energy partner, wireless
partner, ShopOnePass) then an account will go inactive but the miles should
still be there should the account be reactivated.

If you are just dropping off or picking up passengers, you may still do so at the main terminal entrance, but cars cannot be parked unattended at the main terminal.
