Do I have to register to post an ad?

Yes, you must be a registered user to post an ad or reply to an ad. To register with the site, click on the Log-in link in the top right corner of the page above the navigation bar.

How do I post an ad?

Under the Manage Your Classifieds listing click on log In to get into user log in. From there you will be taken to the main classifieds page. Under Manage Your Classified Listings it will display whether you have any items in the system. If you want to post a new item, click on the “click here”. A "Post a Classified Item" box will then pop-up and from here follow the prompts. Once it's posted the ad will actually tell you how many times it has been viewed.

How do I add photos to my listing?

After you submit your listing, a form will display that allows you to upload images to the listing from your computer. You will have to know where the files are on your computer. Click the browse button to select the file. Jpeg files are the best.

Remember this is the internet and smaller files will upload faster and be more convenient. We suggest that if you have a photo editing program to save the files for use on the web.

How can I increase the chances of getting a better response from my ad?
There are a several tips to follow with posting ads.

• Include at least one or more photos of your item with your ad. Why not, it's FREE.
• Be specific with details. Include the brand of the item, model number, condition, features, etc.
• If you are flexible on the price, you can say you'll accept the best offer for the item

Tell your friends and relatives about our free classifieds. The more people who visit the site the more response you'll get.

Why was my ad removed from the site?

There are several reasons why your ad may have been deleted. These include:

• The ad violated the BigCountryHomepage.com our website terms of use .
• Users have notified us that the ad was offensive, obscene or spam.
• The ad automatically expired after 30 days.
• You have posted multiple ads which are too similar to each other.
• Items in the ad are on our prohibited items list.
• The ad nfringes on the rights of third-parties.
• The ad misleads by false statements.

 

How long do ads remain on the site?
The ads automatically expire after 30 days. You can repost ads by logging in and managing your classified listings.

How can I edit my ad on the site?
After you log into the site and click on classifieds you will see a Manage Your Classifieds listings box which will tell you how many ads you have posted and you have the opportunity to change the listings.

What security measures are on the site to cut down on spam?

All classified ads are now moderated and do not post automatically. The moderator determines if ads will be posted or not. This is done several times a day. We require that all users must be a registered user and must log in to respond to an ad. Even with this in place we strongly suggest that you be on the lookout for people who may be trying to run a scam.

How do I contact the person who posted the ad?
Replying to an ad is free, but you must be a registered user on the site to contact them through our email service. You may contact the poster of the ad directly by email by filling out the information in the auto-response form on the ad. The ad poster will get the message sent to them by email and will respond to you directly by email. Some advertisers also include their phone number for contact.

Are ads screened before people are able to post them on the site?

Yes, all of the ad postings are now moderated.  Our moderators check the postings several times a day and it may take several hours for your classified to appear.

What should I do if I see a questionable ad?
If you find an ad that is offense or you have been contacted by someone you believe is a scammers please help us. Contact us by email by clicking here or send an email to to classifiedadmin@bigcountryhomepage.com and let us know of the ad and who send it, we must have the email address of the sender in order to take action.

Does BigCountryHomepage.com offer any mediation between buyers and sellers?

BigCountryHomepage.com provides the Free Classifieds to connect buyers and sellers. All of the transactions which take place are between buyers and sellers. If you feel you have been defrauded contact your local police department.
